MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – If you’re a new or expecting parent, Piedmont Macon Medical Center is offering free classes to help you care for a newborn.

The classes cover everything from childbirth to baby basics and breastfeeding. The hospital hosts three classes each month, and you don’t have to be a patient to attend.

The Director of Women’s Services at Piedmont Macon, Kari Willingham, says having support and being prepared can help make giving birth easier.

“If we can give you a little bit of what to expect when you come in, it will help ease those fears to know what’s going on when when things get crazy and start happening,” Willingham said.

Friends and family of parents are also encouraged to attend the classes.

For class dates and times, or to register for classes, call (478) 765-4502.
