Train, dump truck collision in Monroe County results in injuries

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Three people were hospitalized after a collision between a train and a dump truck Tuesday morning.

A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office news release says it happened around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 41 South near Wadley Road.

“The accident was a result of a collision between a train from the rock quarry and a dump truck,” the release stated. “The driver of the dump truck as well as the conductor and engineer were taken to a Macon hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”
