GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Jones County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday afternoon the capture of a man following a vehicle chase and search operation in the area of Old Macon Road near Gray Highway and Graham Road.

Earlier in the day, the sheriff’s office had issued a description of Neremiah Johnson on its Facebook page after deputies said he fled from a traffic stop.

An update to the post revealed Johnson had been caught.

“The stolen vehicle has been recovered and Johnson is in custody,” the post read.

Deputies say it’s the second time this year Johnson has been involved in a similar offense. In January, Johnson was captured after a vehicle reported stolen from the City of Gray was spotted. A chase ended in Jones County with Johnson’s arrest.

“In case anyone was having a feeling of déjà vu about our stolen car and chase post, you aren’t alone,” a separate Facebook post stated. “This will make twice this year for Mr. Johnson. We hope the criminal justice system will deal with Mr. Johnson accordingly, and we won’t have to wait around for ‘three strikes and you’re out’.”
