2 dead in Jones County crash involving log truck and sedan

The crash resulted in traffic delays Tuesday night.

JONES COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people are dead after a crash involving a sedan and a log truck Tuesday night in Jones County.

It happened around 6 p.m. on Gray Highway near Homer Roberts Road.

The Jones County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post at 6:14 p.m. that one lane on each side of the highway was shut down.

Jones County Chief Deputy Coroner Stacy Gardner tells 41NBC two people inside the sedan, a Kio Rio, were killed. Gardner says the log truck was heading toward Gray on Gray Highway when the crash happened.

She did not release the crash victims’ identities pending notification of their next of kin.
