PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — An early morning armed robbery at a Perry motel Saturday led to multiple arrests.

Perry Police said in a news release that it happened around 6 a.m. Saturday at Quality Inn on Sam Nunn Boulevard. Police say a gunman, later identified by police as 54-year-old Willie Harris Jr. of Montezuma, entered a room and demanded money from the occupants.

Harris fled the scene in one of the victims’ vehicles, according to police, but was later taken into custody.

Police also identified three additional suspects: 26-year-old Alexus Byse, 25-year-old Dexter Sutton and 19-year-old Carlesia Byse, all of Montezuma.

The news release stated Harris, Alexus Byse and Sutton had all been taken into custody. We reached out for clarification since the release didn’t mention Carlesia Byse’s arrest. Police told us they hadn’t taken her into custody yet but expect to soon.

All four will face charges of armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and theft by taking a motor vehicle.
