UPDATE: Man faces additional charges in deadly shooting of store clerk in Crawford County

UPDATE: (11/30) – The man accused of shooting and killing a woman in Crawford County faces additional charges.

Ryan Lee Teal has been charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker, Teal went before a judge for his first court appearance hearing on Thursday, and no bond was set.

He says this is still an ongoing investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.


ORIGINAL STORY (11/29):

CRAWFORD COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A store clerk is dead and a man is in custody after a shooting in Crawford County Tuesday night.

Just before 6 p.m., deputies say they got a call about a person down outside Pleezing Food Store on Highway 80 W. A deputy arrived and found 40-year-old Prishanda Gemisha Colbert unresponsive. Colbert was pronounced dead on the scene.

22-year-old Ryan Lee Teal of Thomaston was later apprehended by the Upson County Sheriff’s Office. Crawford County Sheriff Lewis Walker says he will be charged with murder and armed robbery.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) are still investigating.
