GRAY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 14-year-old boy is in custody after Jones County deputies say he was found in possession of a firearm and a stolen vehicle.

A post on the Jones County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page Wednesday said deputies were alerted to a stolen Subaru Legacy near New Clinton Road on Monday. The vehicle was found at a home on Sun Valley Drive.

Deputies say they learned through an investigation that the 14-year-old had driven the vehicle.

“The juvenile admitted to driving the vehicle and stated that he had gotten the vehicle from someone in Macon,” the post stated.

Deputies say they found a 9mm pistol inside the vehicle.

The 14-year-old was detained and taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center. He was already on probation for similar offenses.

This case remains under investigation.
