Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival wins 25 awards, 41NBC celebrated for ‘Best Parade’

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Macon’s Cherry Blossom Festival was honored with 25 awards at the IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Ceremony in October, including one for 41NBC for its broadcast of the Cherry Blossom Festival Parade.

The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) celebrated the 2023 Cherry Blossom Festival at the 66th Annual IFEA Convention, Expo & Retreat in McAllen, Texas. Under the guidance of President and CEO Stacy Moore, along with the Board of Directors, the festival achieved recognition for its diverse programming, innovative merchandise and dynamic social media campaigns.

Awards were presented to community partners and Cherry Blossom staff members following the Festival’s board meeting Thursday at River North Country Club.

41NBC’s broadcast of the Cherry Blossom Parade earned the Bronze Award for Best Parade.

Other notable awards include Gold for the Festival’s website, designed by The Miner Agency, and multiple awards for the unique ‘Trash Can Trot’ event. The festival’s merchandise, including the Stuffed Pink Poodle Toy and the Pink Poodle Pin, also received honors.

The 2024 Cherry Blossom Festival is set for March 15-24.
