MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Two pastors are being recognized for the impact of their church’s outreach in Macon’s Fort Hill neighborhood and beyond.

New signs were installed Friday, along Fort Hill Street dedicated to Pastor Willie Finney Senior and the late Pastor Peter Binns of Saint Peter Missionary Baptist Church. The church was established in 1952, and has since extended many outreach services in Macon.

Pastor Finney says he’s honored to carry on the work of Pastor Binns.

“The Lord allowed me to come here to be the pastor; he had already given me a vision,” Finney said. “We didn’t have none of this over here. All the people were living in housing over here and somehow the Lord gave me a vision that we were going to build a church on the corner here.”

The portion of the street dedicated to the pastors is from Shurling Drive to Morrow Avenue.
