MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – High pressure to the northeast will keep pleasant and cool conditions around Middle Georgia.

The Rest of the Evening

It will be another cold night around Middle Georgia with overnight lows likely to drop into the low to mid 30s. Winds will continue to blow from the northeast at around 5 mph. While a handful of cirrus clouds will remain overhead, these will do little to insulate the region ahead of Wednesday morning.

Tomorrow

Skies will be similar to Tuesday tomorrow afternoon (a few more cirrus clouds are likely, however) as the northeast winds slowly begin to pick up (5-10 mph). High temperatures will reach the upper 50s and lower 60s around Middle Georgia.

Partly cloudy skies are likely tomorrow night with temperatures only expected to drop into the upper 30s. Winds will be a bit stronger from the northeast at around 5-12 mph. Gusts could push upwards of 15-20 mph.

Thursday and Beyond

Thursday and Friday will see the winds remain out of the northeast under mostly sunny skies, however they will continue to get a bit stronger ahead of the weekend. Temperatures will remain in the upper 50s through the rest of the work week and through the weekend. A low pressure system from the gulf is expected to pass somewhere between northern Florida and the southern half of Georgia over the weekend. This will likely bring cold rain overnight Saturday and much of Sunday. Strong winds will be left in the systems wake to begin next week when cloud cover clears out.
