Hooked on Science: Solar powered balloon pop

(41NBC/WMGT) — Science Guy Jason Lindsey shows us this week how you can pop a balloon inside of a balloon only using the sun!

It starts with a black balloon floating around inside of a clear balloon and then using a magnifying glass while standing outside, Lindsey concentrates the sun on the black balloon. The balloon will absorb the sun until finally it pops! Dark colors absorb more energy from the sun and in the case of the balloon the more absorbed the weaker the rubber got but the clear balloon was left perfectly intact.
