MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will likely drop into the upper 30s around much of the region tonight.

The Rest of the Day

Expect a few cirrus clouds to linger into tonight. These will do little to insulate the region, allowing daytime heat to radiate to the upper levels of the atmosphere resulting in low temperatures into the upper 30s. Wind will blow from the northwest at around 5 mph, calming a good bit from the stronger breezes earlier this afternoon.

Tomorrow

Mostly sunny skies are likely around Middle Georgia with the southern half of the region likely seeing a bit more cirrus clouds that linger. Temperatures will climb into the lower 60s around the region with winds generally from the west at about 5-10 mph. Gusts could push over 15 mph.

It will be a bit chilly again tomorrow night with northwest winds expected at around 5-12 mph. Temperatures will drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s again ahead of Wednesday morning under mostly clear skies.

Wednesday and Beyond

Wednesday and Thursday will be a bit cooler thanks to northwesterly flow following the pass of the cold front. This will lead to highs in the 50s Wednesday and Thursday before high pressure moves through Thursday afternoon. Once that leaves, winds will shift back to the south to allow moisture return ahead of storm chances Saturday and Sunday.
