Local author writes self-help book for women

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Local author Dr. Jessica Houston stopped by Daybreak to talk about her new book, Women’s Secrets, and how this self-help book can help transform women’s’ lives.

Houston based her book on personal experiences and shares a story in every chapter. She said the book deals with topics that are often overlooked, such as intimate partner violence, low self-confidence, poverty, and depression. Houston said these issues affect millions of women daily, but they are not receiving the attention that they deserve.

Houston has more than a decade of social work, counseling and higher education training experience. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Kaplan University and as the School Social Worker/Coordinator of Student Services for the Jones County School System.
