UPDATE (11/19): A person is in custody in connection with a fatal crash over the summer.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Caleb Levi Hendrix of Macon was taken into custody just before 5 p.m. Sunday.

He was wanted for homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence (drugs), driving on the wrong side of the roadway and superior court violation of probation (burglary second degree) in connection with the death of Michael Burnett.

He’s being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.

ORIGINAL STORY (7/31):

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A motorcycle crash that left a 48-year-old Macon man dead is being investigated.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, it happened on Riggins Mill Road near Hubert Smart Airport early Sunday morning.

Deputies say a Chevrolet Silverado crashed into a motorcycle. Michael Burnett, who was on the motorcycle, died on the scene.

The driver of the Silverado was not injured.
