MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A downtown Macon coffee shop is re-opening its doors this week after it had to close nearly one year ago.

Taste & See Coffee Shop and Gallery, located at 546 Poplar Street, closed last November due to a shortage of employees during the holiday season. According to shop owner Kevin Reeves, people stepped forward to work at Taste & See when they heard the shop was closing.

Reeves says the shop is more than just a place to get coffee, but a place where people can come together.

“We have people coming in and out, people that work downtown that just came over for a break, came over for lunch,” Reeves said. “And everyone has been, you know, very positive outcome, and everyone’s just talked about how much they love that we’re back, so we’re excited to be back as well.”

Reeves says Taste & See has brought back all of its classic menu items. Since reopening, the shop now roasts its coffee beans in house.
