MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Area Habitat for Humanity is getting in the holiday spirit with its annual Light More Homes Christmas lights display.

Lights will be switched on starting Thursday, November 16 at 5:30 p.m. and will be on every night through January 5 in Mercer Village.

The Christmas display is one of Habitat’s largest fundraising events. It also gives middle and high school students the opportunity to put their programming skills to the test in a competition for best light show.

Macon Area Habitat’s Executive Director, Ivey Hall, says donations collected from the event will go towards building homes for families in Bibb and Jones Counties.

“The lights are free to enjoy, but we hope that you’ll consider making a donation to Habitat as you remember the lights and truly help us light more homes in the future,” Hall said.

You can make a donation by scanning the QR codes posted around Mercer Village or by donating directly through the Macon Area Habitat’s website.
